For a number of years local icon BLAKE HAVARD has been a part of the very fibre of the Vancouver music scene. He is well respected by his peers, the who’s who of the local music landscape. A dedicated and hard-working musician, Havard’s years of effort are set to pay dividends with the release of his new single “Wanted To Believe You”. It is true that we get by with a little help from our friends. The track was co-written with Pete Droge, mixed by mix master to the stars MIKE FRASER and mastered by Grammy winner Richard Dodd. With such a prestigious profile, BLAKE HAVARD is the perfect host for this event.

For nigh on 30 years, Brian Zalo and Craig Allan Mack have been following their love for music and entertaining others. Fourteen years ago something magical happened when they joined forces becoming SMITH & JONES. When Shawn Brown joined the group on drums it proved to be a match made in musical heaven. This power trio has carved out a solid place in the Canadian West Coast Country Music Scene. They started making waves here at home that carried them all the way to Australia. Great vocal stylings and a distinguishing artistic sense are evident in everything they do.

Their debut CD Smith & Jones, with singles “Flyin”, “You Make Me Smile” and “My Country”, is getting serious airtime on radio stations across Canada and abroad. SMITH & JONES is definitely a strong force for other groups in BC. The music and sound is unique and not to be taken lightly. These guys are pros in every sense of the word and you don’t want to miss what they bring to the show.

Frequently found backing such artists as Karen Lee Batten, Chad Brownlee, Damian Marshall and Sandra Laratta, this is their time to shine. They continue to provide the high- energy performances that their fans have come to expect and love. Tom McKillip, award-winning producer for Aaron Pritchett and Lisa Brokop says, “Many things impress me about Smith & Jones, I’m proud to endorse their talent and work ethic.” Aleta Tulk of 88.7 KIK-FM, Tablelands Country, Mareeba, Australia concludes, “Smith & Jones have the magic ingredients for success – vocals and harmonies. Definitely deserving of airplay.”

Sisters ROBYN & RYLEIGH Gillespie are a talented new country/pop duo mixing sibling harmonies and quick wit with a roots-meets-pop sound. Robyn began writing songs at the tender age of 12 putting her experiences of loneliness, young love, and heartbreak into lyrics and music. Ryleigh began adding her own harmonies to her sister’s songs and their pure joy of singing together gave birth to something beautiful. They are celebrating the release of their new full-length album Robyn and Ryleigh. Their current single and video “Just Another Sundown” are currently receiving national airplay. Their library includes originals and covers by the artists that have inspired them.

With a polished, finely tuned sound this talented duo is on their way to the top. Following BC Country Music Award nominations for The Horizon Award and Group/Duo of the Year (2012), ROBYN & RYLEIGH became a centerpiece of Raincoast Music. From live showcases including the BC Summer Games (2010), the BC Country Music Awards (2011) and the Merritt Mountain Music Fest (2011) to the Canadian Country Music Awards (2012) ROBYN & RYLEIGH are the perfect recipe for a couple of girls you’d like to get to know better.
