From small-town Tisdale to big-time small screen, BRENT BUTT is one of Canada’s funniest and most successful comedians. Also a gifted writer, producer and actor, Brent created the hilarious “CORNER GAS”. It was an instant hit earning unprecedented ratings and numerous accolades including an International Emmy Award nomination (2004) as well as being named Funniest Show on TV by TV Guide readers. The iconic show went on to become Canada’s #1 comedy, broadcast in over 26 countries including the US and airing for six seasons. Brent then created “HICCUPS”, a sitcom starring himself and Nancy Robertson. The show ran two seasons, winning multiple LEO Awards along the way. Brent recently made the transition to the big screen, having completed shooting on his new feature film “NO CLUE” which he wrote and stars in. Even with such a busy schedule Brent continues to tour the country performing standup.

Butt was honoured with the Comedy Network Sir Peter Ustinov Award at the World Television Festival (2008). Past recipients include John Cleese, Bob Newhart, John Candy and Eugene Levy. Along the way, Brent also won four Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Male Stand-up (2001), Best Male TV Performance (Corner Gas, 2004–05) and Best Writing – TV Series (Corner Gas, 2004).
