JESSIE FARRELL has a remarkable talent that has brought her much in a short time and so, along with her friends THE HIGGINS, JAYDEE BIXBY and CHAD BROWNLEE, she is giving a little back.

JRFM 93.7, Vancouver’s New Country present the BASICS FOR BABIES FUNDRAISER featuring JESSIE FARRELL AND FRIENDS featuring performances by THE HIGGINS, JAYDEE BIXBY and CHAD BROWNLEE on Friday, December 11th at the Bell Performing Arts Centre in Surrey.  Tickets go on sale for $29.50(plus Service Charges) on Saturday, November 14th at all Ticketmaster outlets. Five dollars from every ticket sold will go straight to the BASICS FOR BABIES  program, founded and operated by JRFM in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society to assist families in coping with the challenges of raising a young infant by providing them with needed food, formula and diapers. Abbotsford singer/songwriter JESSIE FARRELL released her third studio album Good, Bad and Pretty Things (604 Records) this October and the first single “You Make Me Feel” is already high in the Canadian country charts.  Her breakthrough album Nothing Fancy , released in 2007, elevated Farrell into Canada’s country A-list with the singles “Let’s Talk About Love”, “Fell Right behind You,” “I Guess” and “Best of Me” winning three Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA‘s) including Female Artist of the Year. THE HIGGINS is a perfect example of a family working together. John, Eileen, and Kathleen Higgins, a brother and two sisters from Delta, BC, have been a hit from the moment they started performing live.  Their mostly self-penned fourth album Real Thing (Open Road Recordings 2008) yielded the hits “Real Thing” and “Flower Child”  and earned them six CCMA awards including Group of the Year in both 2008 and 2009.  Their current single is “Second Hand Car.” Young JAYDEE BIXBY is now the band leader and the star but he started performing way back with his mom, dad and a family friend in a band called The Bixbys before moving on to conquer the young hearts of Canada with his  stellar performances during the2007 Canadian Idol contest aired on CTV.  He has recently released the fourth single “My So Called Life” from his debut album Cowboys and Cadillacs released last year. “The Best That I Can Be (Superhero)” is the current single from CHAD BROWNLEE and also sums the way this talented young man approaches life and music.  Chad was looking to make his mark in the National Hockey League (NHL) and was drafted into the Canucks training camp in 2003 but was forced to retire early due to injuries. The NHL’s loss is the country fan’s gain because now CHAD BROWNLEE can “give a hundred and ten percent” of his energy to music. Come on country fans – lets have a great time doing something good when JRFM 93.7 Vancouver’s New Country presents the BASICS FOR BABIES FUNDRAISER featuring JESSIE FARRELL AND FRIENDS featuring performances by THE HIGGINS, JAYDEE BIXBY and CHAD BROWNLEE on Friday, December 11th at the Bell Performing Arts Centre located at 6250 144th Street, Surrey (phone 604-596-8189) in Surrey.  The doors open at 7PM with the show starting at 7:30PM.  Tickets go on sale for $29.50 (plus Service Charges) on Saturday, November 14th at all Ticketmaster outlets (online at www.ticketmaster.ca or charge–by-phone at 604-280-4444).
