JAY AND THE AMERICANS is four kids from Brooklyn who have survived the rocky road from 2 track recording & vinyl 45’s to downloading on I- Tunes. It all started in 1959 with a vocal group called The Harborlites and white dinner jackets. Through several label changes, an unfulfilling and endless string of one niters and disappointments, the boys have arrived at a place where the groove is right, the music is tight and the fun is the reason for being. Along the way there have been a string of hits from covers to original material. The list begins with “Tonight” from the original West Side Story, followed by “She Cried”, “Only In America”, “Come A Little Bit Closer”, “Lets Lock The Door”, “Think Of The Good Times”, “Some Enchanted Evening”, “This Magic Moment”, “When You Dance”, “Hushabye”, “Walking In The Rain”, “There Goes My Baby” and the unforgettable “Cara Mia”. The group was the first to have a hit with a Neil Diamond song – “Sunday & Me”.

JAY AND THE AMERICANS joined the Righteous Brothers on the Beatles first American tour in 1964. They also played Carnegie Hall with The Rolling Stones. Between 1962 and 1971 they had an unparalleled 12 Top Ten records. In addition J&A’s were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame (2002), placing them among the greatest vocal groups in Rock and Roll history. Few bands have ever reached the musical heights of JAY AND THE AMERICANS. Fans describe their voices as powerful and amazing, their show as fantastic and fabulous.
