Ray Sawyer, the spirited, eye-patched original lead vocalist, will entertain with his dry wit, quick humour, and huge selection of Top 10 hits from the 70’s and early 80’s. The set list is packed with classic rock gems such as: “Sylvia’s Mother”, “On The Cover Of The Rolling Stone”, “Only Sixteen”, “When You’re In Love With A Beautiful Woman”, “Sexy Eyes”, “Walk Right In”, “Freakin’ At The Freakers Ball” and “You Make My Pants Want To Get Up And Dance”. Born and raised in Alabama, Ray Sawyer’s musical style was indelibly marked by the blending of country and R&B music that kept the South’s dance halls hopping. His trademark eye patch was acquired following a 1967 auto accident. When he was back on his feet, Ray set out for Los Angeles in 1968, working his way back east where the nucleus of Dr. Hook was formed. Accumulating 40 gold records worldwide with DR HOOK, Ray has gained the confidence of a seasoned entertainer. With an abundance of stage energy, a prankish sense of humour, and an unmistakable voice and image, Ray Sawyer is giving long-time and new fans the exact show that they’ve been looking for.
