Just in case you didn’t know: WIDE MOUTH MASON is an amazing blues-based, musically rich three piece dynamo made up of Shaun Verreault (vocals, guitar), Safwan Javed (percussion, vocals) and Earl Pereira (bass, vocals), that rocked out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1995 and is now at home all over North America, Europe, Japan and China. They have released five studio albums, garnering several Juno Award nominations along the way. They have received standing ovations touring with bands like The Rolling Stones, ZZ TOP and AC/DC . In the jazz world – WIDE MOUTH MASON was the first ever Canadian rock group to be invited to the Montreux Jazz Festival where they were dubbed “the find of the festival”. Still young, intense and dynamic, these guys just love to perform. ODDS…a musical name that is pure Vancouver. After they released their first album Neapolitan in 1991, they were hired to tour with Warren Zevon as his band for the album Mr Bad Example. ODDS released three more albums loaded with hit songs like “Heterosexual Man,” “Love is the Subject,” “It Falls Apart, “Make You Mad” and “Someone Who Is Cool” just to name a few, before they went on a long hiatus in 1999. In 2008 they reunited and recently released a new e/p called Noise. If you have only heard of them but never seen them, now is your chance to catch a band that is always guaranteed to rock your soul. White Rock boy JORDAN CARRIER, former front man for Cozybones, released his first solo album Absence of Wonder last year and heads started bopping to his new harder, urgent sound. He was one of five finalists in the 2008 FOX SEEDS contest, which culminated in a sold-out show at The Commodore Ballroom and getting his single “Club People” blasting out of radios all over town. 99.3 The Fox’s ‘Nineties At Noon” and Rock.It Boy Entertainment present WIDE MOUTH MASON in concert with special guests ODDS and JORDAN CARRIER on Thursday, October 1st at VENUE located at 881 Granville St. in Vancouver (phone Ph 604-646-0064).
