THE DOORS hit the stage in 1965 and set the world on fire. Their unique style and stage persona set them apart from the madding crowd as one of the most influential rock bands of the era. Although short-lived, with the passing of Jim Morrison in 1971, they have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. Their popularity continues, largely based upon their smash hits “Riders On The Storm”, “Light My Fire”, “Roadhouse Blues”, “People Are Strange”, “Break On Through”, “L.A. Woman”, “Hello, I Love You” and “Love Me Two Times”.
Highly praised by THE DOORS Robby Krieger and John Densmore, STRANGE DAYS: A TRIBUTE TO THE DOORS delivers a spot-on tribute to one the most controversial and amazing groups of our time. STRANGE DAYS is Jason Tosta, Robert Carsten, Michael Jacobson and Derek Smith.
Jason Tosta has been a professional vocalist for over 15 years touring extensively. He has been privileged to perform with legendary DOORS guitarist Robby Krieger on many occasions. He has also shared the stage with bass legend Phil Chen, and The Cult bassist Chris Wyse. Sharing Morrison’s passion for film, he obtained a B.S. in Film/Television Production from SDSU.
Robert Carsten has toured most of the world as a sound engineer with the likes of Bush, The Cranberries, Ministry, Concrete Blonde, Lita Ford, Berlin, The Motels and The Doors of the 21st Century. Robert is a formally trained guitarist holding a degree from the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood for Performance & Composition.
Michael Jacobson is an in-demand session musician in L. A. He has earned high praise from DOORS guitarist Robby Krieger for his keyboard skills as well as his ability to reproduce the classic Doors sound. In addition to sharing the stage with Robby Krieger numerous times, Michael has also performed with prodigious bassist Phil Chen, drummer Ty Dennis, and The Cult bass player Chris Wyse.
Derek Smith has shared the stage with DOORS guitarist Robby Krieger, and has been personally acknowledged by DOORS drummer John Densmore who complimented Derek’s drumming ability and the level of detail he brings to his performance of THE DOORS music. He has also performed with The Doobie Brothers, legendary bass player Phil Chen, Chas West of Foreigner and the Jason Bonham Band.
