MARCY PLAYGROUND, the quirky rock & roll trio from New York City led by  singer and writer John Wozniak (along with  bassist Dylan Keefe and drummer  Shlomi Lavie), hit the road about a year ago on the release of the long-waited fourth album and they are still energetically rocking their way across the continent, coast to coast and north to south, with new songs like “Blackbird,” ‘Gin and Money” and “I Burned The Bed.” A highly original and melodic modern rock band, MARCY PLAYGROUND exploded onto the scene back in 1997 with the insanely irresistible hit single ‘Sex And Candy‘, a song that notched fifteen consecutive weeks at number one on Billboard U.S. Modern Rock tracks chart and a self-titled debut album that went on to sell 1.7 million copies.  One minute they were an ‘underground alternative band’ and next thing they were mainstream, rocking every party in America. They followed that up with Shapeshifter (1999) and MP3 (2004), two finely crafted albums filled with songs like “Its Saturday,” “Deadly Handsome Man” and “Punk Rock Superstar” that have won them respect and a lot of long term fans.  It has been five years since the last album but MARCY PLAYGROUND is back with a collection of new songs on their fourth album Leaving wonderland…in a fit of rage that takes the listener on a musical and emotional roller coaster ride from semi-acoustic confessional secrets to careless and quirky hard rock. As a live act MARCY PLAYGROUND is tireless, and continues to demonstrate just how much variety you can get from a three-piece band.
