Get out your favourite dancing shoes because Canada’s King of the Rumba is coming to town

Rock.It Boy Entertainment is pleased to present Canada’s rumba flamenco maestro JESSE COOK in concert on Thursday, May 6^th at the Abbey Arts Centre in Abbotsford.  Tickets go on sale on February 13^th for $45 (plus Facility Fee and Service Charges) at all Ticketmaster outlets.

The last time Canadian born ‘Nuevo Flamenco’ wizard JESSE COOK came to the Fraser Valley he was already an international flamenco and world music star who had won the Best Instrumental Album of the Year for Free Fall (2000 Narada World Records) at the 2001 Juno Awards.  He was also already so popular with international fans that extra security was hired at certain jazz festivals because there was never enough room for all the people that wanted to dance in the aisles.

Last September JESSE COOK released his ninth album The Rumba Foundation, made in Colombia with a local group called Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto and has once again amazed both critics and fans and just gone through the roof. It was #1 Canadian album  on iTunes (above Madonna and Black Eyed Peas) and also the #1 album on the iTunes World charts, #2 on the Amazon.com world Charts, #5 on the Billboard World Music Chart and so on, plus the single ‘Bogota by Bus’ soared to the top of the Smooth Jazz charts.

Being surrounded by legendary Gypsy guitar players and participating in flamenco jam session on his fathers roof were the first music lessons JESSE COOK ever had. It has been a fantastic evolution of talent which first took root when he was a young boy staying at his father’s house in Arles in the south of France next door to Nicolas Reyes the lead singer of The Gypsy Kings.  Now, performing, writing and recording at his creative peak, this Canadian with the soul of a Gypsy is himself almost legendary.
