42 years, 11 Juno nominations, 16 studio albums, 15 compilation albums, 9 live albums and 34 singles; APRIL WINE is iconic and eternal. Immortal hits “Oowatanite”, “Like A Lover, Like A Song”, “Sign of The Gypsy Queen”, “Roller”, “Tonight Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love” and “Just Between You and Me” led the band’s induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame (2009), receiving The Lifetime Achievement Award (2009) and induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame (2010). The phenomenon that is APRIL WINE cannot easily be summed up in a few words.

It all began in Nova Scotia 1969 with a name chosen simply because they were two words that sounded good together. Thousands of concerts later APRIL WINE has become enormously popular in Canada, the United States and throughout the world. “You Could Have Been a Lady” (1971), was #1 in Canada and spent 11 weeks on Billboard’s Top 30. Fan favorites “Weeping Widow”, “Just Like That” and “Lady Run Lady Hide” followed by the hit “I Wouldn’t Want To Lose Your Love” pushed the band into platinum status. “The Whole World’s Goin’ Crazy” and “She’s No Angel” continued the hit parade. First Glance (1979) made APRIL WINE an international success, spending 11 weeks on Billboard’s 200 Album chart. The single “Roller” hit Top 30 U.S.A. and Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart for 11 weeks. Power songs “I Like To Rock”, “Say Hello”, “Crash And Burn”, “Anything You Want You Got It”, “Enough is Enough”, “If You See Kay” proved there was still plenty of “Wine” to go around! They continue to satisfy their fans with a live mix of straight ahead rock n’ roll and power ballads, an APRIL WINE mainstay.

Band original, Myles Goodwyn, will be the opening act for APRIL WINE this year. Myles says, “I’m looking forward to a more intimate connection with the audience than I personally get in a full blown APRIL WINE concert. I`ll get to play some songs that were inspirational to me growing up and I`ll play some more obscure APRIL WINE songs that I wrote as well. These are songs that fans have been asking to hear but are difficult to reproduce live or simply not conducive to the flow of the familiar songs that folks wanna hear year after year.” The choice of songs he’ll play on any given night will be dictated by how he feels, the type of venue and audience. And yes…….he’ll take requests. “The evening is first and foremost an APRIL WINE show, that won’t change. That’s still my main priority.”
