Seven studio albums in fifteen years is, in itself is a measure of JESSE COOK’s artistic success and his latest album, The Rumba Foundation, is no exception. In what might be his strongest work yet, Jesse melds his trademark rumba flamenco style with the roots of Cuba and modernizes it with dazzling instrumentals that will touch your soul.

The Juno award winning guitarist, JESSE COOK is well known for his funky jazz and Latin music and the high energy of his live shows but the Paris born Cook studied in classical and jazz guitar in some of North America’s most prestigious music schools, including the legendary Berklee College of Music in Boston. He later attempted to unlearn this training while immersing his self in the oral traditions of Gypsy music, helping him widen his range of musical tastes and talents.

JESSE COOK’s hard work and dedication to his music has paid off, winning the Juno for “Best Instrumental Album (2001)” for Free Fall, Acoustic Guitar Magazine’s “Player’s Choice Award/Silver Winner (2009)” in the Flamenco category and three time winner of the Canadian Smooth Jazz award for “Guitarist of the Year”. In addition, Cook achieved something no one before him ever has, dominating both the smooth jazz radio charts with his Top 3 single, “Café Mocha” and the Billboard New Age chart with his Number 1 album Frontiers, which to date has spent over 70 weeks in the Top 10.
